Thanks to the teachers for organizing the community meeting; hopefully, the turnout encouraged you to know this community supports you!

What a great turnout tonight in support of our SGCS teachers. As frustrating as this situation is, with many voices we will be heard. Remember to pray for and encourage the teachers and school board members who are struggling and carrying a heavy weight. I will be praying for those of you who will be speaking at and attending the school board meeting this coming monday.

Teachers, thank you so much for all that you do. We owe you our deepest gratitude for the long hours you put in, the care in which you instruct our children, and the dedication it must take to endure a less than amicable environment for so long. You are being heard.

Sincerely,
Laura Cook

Green was definately the color of choice at school this morning!

The exchange of ideas and support opportunities that this blog provides is a great way to get things moving in the right direction.

Lets show our support by going to the school board meeting on Monday 4.21.08.

To all Smith-Green teachers,

I'm writing not only as a CHS alumni but also as a parent of 3 (soon to be 4) students at SGCS. My husband and I chose to stay in this school system when we started our family because of the positive environment and education that we had during our years at SGCS. Many of the great teachers that we had are now teaching our boys. I have seen many of you go above and beyond the call of duty not only for my boys but for all of the students at SGCS.

It's a shame that our school system, and some of our administration has come to this. I want everyone to know that my husband and I are behind you 100 percent.

As far as teachers go, I couldn't ask for better. However as a school system in general...........I'm sickened!

I will proudly wear my green in support and honor of all of you. Stay strong and know that we, as a community, will walk through this journey by your side.

Sincerely
Shannon England-Young
Class of 1994 and
Proud parent of 3 (soon to be 4) CES students

I just want to say I am so Proud to see our community pull together and work together in a positive way. We need to continue to hand out and wear our Green Ribbons to show our support to our school and our community. I would also like to thank all the board members who have taken time out of their schedules to listen to everyone and to talk to all of us and I would like to thank all the people that have taken the time to express their concerns. Please Keep our Teachers, School Board Members, adminstration and our community in your prayers so that we may all work together to make our school and community a great environment for our children "OUR FUTURE".
